The Delhi leg of the TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge got underway in the city recently and lived up to its reputation of being one of the most talked about golfing events in the calendar. The 3 day event held at the pristine greens of the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort saw the participation of several corporate leaders, business honchos and who is who of the Delhi social circuit.
The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is the only official qualifier event in India for the World Corporate Golf Challenge held in Spain and India has been sending teams to this annual World Championship of Corporate Teams for the past 9 years with the one last year emerging victorious amongst teams participating from more than 25 countries across the world.
The event comprises of regional rounds in major Indian cities that comprise representatives from respective zones and culminate with a National Final, the winners of which go on to play the world championship at an exotic golf destination. Apart from Delhi the event this year will be played over three days in Mumbai at Aamby Valley Golf Resort, Lonovala on Feb 28th - 1st March and finally the National Finals on March 6th&7th at Amby Valley Lonavla. The Bangalore leg was held at Eagleton Golf Resort from 23 - 25th Jan.
The team from Fashion Express comprising T.P. Mamik, Capt. Shakti Dogra, S.P. Singh & Sushil Gupta emerged victorious in the Delhi leg of the tournament followed closely by Ravi Talwar, Shiv Nath, Sanjeev Talwar & K.K. Bajoria from T&T Motors. Both these teams have earned themselves a berth at the National Finals to be held in Amby Valley.
The other highlight of the event was the Ballantines Long Drive Challenge that puts the raw skills of every golfer to test. A shorter version of the game, the Ballantines Long Drive is about hitting the ball farthest from the tee and the winner lays his hands on fabulous prizes in a matter of few drives.

Shantanu & Nikhil Team wins TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge
The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge - India, North Zone qualifier kicked off on Friday - Saturday February 6th & 7th, at Jaypee Greens Golf Resort with 50 corporate four member teams competing for three spots at the Semi Final to be held tomorrow 8th Feb at the Jaypee Green Golf Resort, these three semi finalist teams will be joined by 3 other teams who have won themselves a direct entering into the semi final by winning other events organized by Rishi Narain Golf Management during August - December 2008 in Delhi.
The Shantanu & Nikhil represented Nikhil Mehra, Tanuj Taneja, Vishal Chowdary and Sachin Goyal took top honours as the team total of the best three scores was 107 points. They narrowly edged out Amalgamated Plantations comprising off Hardeep Singh, Gautam Chadha, Ashok Rai and Ashok Tankha who scored 105 points. The 2nd runner up team comprising off Ravi Talwar, K.K. Bajoria, Sanjiv Talwar & Shiv Nath who scored 102 points.
The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is the official qualifying tournament for the World Championship of Corporate Golf, now in its 13th year which bring together corporate teams from 30 different countries who win their national qualifying tournaments.
In India there are three qualifiers, South (23 - 25th Jan, Eagleton Golf Resort, Bangalore), North (6 - 8th Feb, Jaypee Greens Golf Resort) and West (28 Feb - 1st Mar, Aamby Valley, Lonovala). The top two teams from each regional meet in a National Final at Aamby Valley on March 7th and the World Final is to be played at La Manga, Spain June 29th - 3rd July 2009.

This multi city corporate event is the only corporate golfing event in the country which gives Indian corporate teams a unique opportunity to represent their country in the annual World Golf Championship of corporate teams. In 2008, the Indian Team from Credit Suisse became the first and only Indian team to emerge victorious at the World Finals held at the famed La Manga Club in Spain, putting India on the Corporate golf map. The corporate are not far behind than the Indian Professional golfer in making it big overseas.
