TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge
The TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is the only official Indian qualifying tournament to select the Indian Team for the World Finals. Its regional tournaments are held in Kodaikanal, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lonavla and Delhi with a National Finals contested by the top two teams from each city.
The World Finals have been held annually since 1994 at the exclusive La Manga Club in Spain apart from one edition each in Jamaica, Mauritius, Kuala Lumpur and South Africa. India started participating in it since 1999.
In 2011, Team India comprising of Rudratej Singh and Subhash Naidu from Hindustan Unilever, Mumbai emerged Runners-up at the World Finals of the 25th World Corporate Golf Challenge. In 2010, Team India emerged Runners-up at the World Finals held at Cape Town, South Africa, the highlight was hole in one by Indian team member Manav Sardana at the 205 yard par three 14th hole. This was the first hole in one ever scored at the World Final of the Corporate Challenge in 17 years! In 2008, the Indian Team from Credit Suisse became the first and only Indian team to emerge victorious at the World Finals held at the famed La Manga Club in Spain.
Other teams that have represented India in the past at the World Finals are BPCL, Parle Foods, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank (from Mumbai), Indian Airlines, Hero Motors, GE, Golden Peacock & McCann Ericson. In 2007, the team from Mercedes-Benz finished a creditable 5th amongst the 25 participating countries and was also voted the most popular team of the tournament.
